Our General Works Division is an integral part of our operations, covering a similar range of project types on a smaller scale to our Main Contracts division, and helping to ensure we can provide a holistic service to our Clients. General Works area of operations covers southern Hampshire and SE Dorset.

APPOINTMENT OF NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR - April 2016
Following a recent review of our Group governance and Board structures, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Phil Langdown as the new Managing Director of Herbert H Drew and Son Ltd.
Phil began his career with the Company in 1984, on a 4-year Trainee Surveyor apprenticeship, from where he quickly progressed into Estimating and Contracts Management. He was promoted to the Board of Directors in 1999, and since that time has actively managed many large contracts throughout the region, building strong long-term relationships for the business, whilst overseeing the Surveying Department, and holding additional responsibility for staff training and development.
Phil is taking over from Bill Rabbetts, who will remain as Chairman, prioritising his time on Group strategy, property development, and finding new business opportunities. As Managing Director for over 20 years, Bill steered the business to success even throughout challenging economic downturns, and with his extensive experience in the Industry will continue to bring valuable input and guidance.
Bill Rabbetts commented: "I am delighted that Phil has accepted his new role. He is highly respected within the Company and the wider Industry, has a deep understanding of our business and all it stands for, and is ideally suited to lead the Team in delivering against our exciting strategy for the future."
Phil commented: "I am looking forward to the challenge of taking Herbert H Drew into the next chapter of its history. I believe it will be a hard, but rewarding, journey. However, with the clear focus of our Strategic Plan we will be well placed to deal with the next challenges that this Industry will inevitably throw upon us, and to take advantage of the opportunities awaiting. BOURNEMOUTH TOWN CENTRE REGENERATION
DREW is actively involved in a number of schemes making a significant contribution to the regeneration of Bournemouth Town Centre. The largest project to date is construction of 83 studio apartments and ground floor retail outlets on the site of the former Sorting Office in Albert Road. Further projects have included recent completion of refurbishments to 22 St Peters Road, delivering high quality residential accommodation, and the reconfiguration of Vandale House - a derelict office building - to provide luxury apartments over four floors. Read more on this.
DREW ACHIEVES TRIPLE BADGE ISO ACCREDITATION
HH Drew took on the challenge of achieving a triple standard ISO accreditation and are now pleased to announce that we have achieved ISO:9001, ISO:14001 and OHSAS:18001. Having gained the 'triple badge' accreditation at the end of 2015, and recently completing our first surveillance visit by BM Trada since being awarded the accreditation, we are now looking ahead and driving business improvement throughout the Company.
HH Drew now ensures full implementation of our Integrated Management Systems on all our building contracts to adhere to the three standards; Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management systems. The whole integrated system has been built around our existing procedures and processes, albeit these have been enhanced, supplemented, and will now be measured.
