OFFICE EXPANSION FOR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY
13 November saw another ground-breaking ceremony, this time to mark the official start of works to expand the UK offices of Boehringer Ingelheim, based in Bracknell. In attendance were Professor Klaus Dugi - the UK Managing Director of Boehringer Ingelheim, Ash Merry (Deputy Town Mayor), Isabel Mattick (Consort Councillor), with DREW Construction represented by Project Director Paul Gillard.
The scheme comprises a two-storey extension of ground floor training rooms and staff facilities, with first floor meeting rooms. The design by GDM Architects, managed by Sawyer and Fisher, will provide versatile accommodation adaptable to meet the needs of this International employer. Klaus Dugi commented: "This is a significant milestone for Boehringer Ingelheim. We aim to create the best possible working environment for our staff, and are always looking at ways to improve on the service and commitment levels we deliver to our patients. We are looking forward to having the Team all under one roof. We wish DREW all the best for a successful and timely contract." Additional comments on our Facebook page.
BOURNEMOUTH TOWN CENTRE REGENERATION
DREW, in partnership with ICEE, is currently busy transforming derelict retail units and flats in Old Christchurch Road to create 16 new high specification apartments and refurbished retail units. The Team are working ahead of programme, with works likely to be completed during Spring 2016. Bill Cotton, Executive Director of Bournemouth Borough Council commented "It's fantastic to see Drew's making such progress on site. This investment is another sign that Old Christchurch Road and Horseshoe Common are the up-and-coming parts of the Town Centre."

Three further projects are being undertaken concurrently by DREW, also in the Town Centre area - refurbishment of 22 St Peters Road to provide high quality residential accommodation; the reconfiguration of Vandale House - a derelict office building unoccupied for the past 20 years - to provide luxury apartments over four floors with balconies; and the construction of 83 studio flats and 2 retail units on the site of the former Sorting Office.
