| Client: | Borough of Bournemouth | The new kitchen/dining hall extension was constructed between two existing wings of the school, forming an enclosed courtyard designed to enable outside performances on an elevated platform. The interior of the dining room was also designed to accommodate school productions, including the provision of performance lighting and sound system. Acoustic partitions enabled the hall to be divided into three separate areas of flexible teaching accommodation. A new kitchen of commercial quality together with secure serving hatch was incorporated within the refurbished section of the works and linked to the new dining facility. All works were completed whilst the school was in full occupation, with specific operations programmed around the school timetable to minimise disruption. This scheme was the first undertaken by the Client to achieve a BREEAM standard. |
