st josephs church hall · christchurch

Client: Portsmouth RC Trading Assn

This scheme comprised the construction of a single storey extension to the existing church to form a new multi-use church hall. Construction involved glulam/steel structural elements, zinc roofing and high performance bespoke hardwood windows and doors. The scheme also included full fit-out to provide a turnkey solution involving commercial kitchen installation, bespoke internal joinery, AV equipment and loose furniture.

Access to the site was restricted as the church remained in full use. A sympathetic approach was required in relation to the numerous services and ongoing church activities taking place during the construction period.

The scheme was completed on time and to budget, and officially blessed by the Bishop of Portsmouth on 24 March 2011.
